TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) beneficiaries will see a slight rise in premiums this year, after many military families enjoyed a significant drop in costs in 2025.
The program is open to active duty family members, as well as National Guard and Reserve members and their families. Survivors of servicemembers who died on active duty are also eligible, but do not pay premiums.
Active duty servicemembers receive dental care via the Active Duty Dental Program; the premium update does not affect any other TRICARE or TRICARE For Life costs or coverage.

The new rates take effect March 1, according to a TRICARE news release, but coverage costs are billed a month in advance, so beneficiaries will be paying the new rates in February. The rates will remain in effect through Feb. 28, 2027.
TDP monthly rates for active duty families with a sponsor E-4 and below will be $8.79 for one family member and $22.85 for more than one member, up from $8.65 and $22.48, respectively. Monthly rates for families with sponsors E-5 and above pay $11.72 for single coverage and $30.47 for more than one family member, up from $11.53 and $29.98, respectively. The change represents an increase of less than 2%.
