Stateside commissaries will offer sidewalk sales in September, with savings on everything from lunchmeat to pet food to cleaning products, and much more.

All 176 U.S.-based stores will participate, according to a news release from the Defense Commissary Agency. Shoppers can find dates for deals at their nearby stores via a searchable list at Commissaries.com. Deals kick off Sept. 1 in Texas (Goodfellow Air Force Base) and North Carolina (Camp Lejeune), and wrap up with the Oct. 1 end of the Fort Polk, La., commissary's sale.

Sales range from two days to nearly a week at some locations. Installations with multiple stores will have multiple sales: Fort Hood's Clear Creek store features deals from Sept. 4-7, for example, while the Texas installation's Warrior Way store will offer savings Sept. 15-18.

The online list can be sorted by state, location, or date, and links are available to the store websites -- schedules are subject to change because of weather and other factors, so it's best to double-check the sale is still on before making a shopping list.

The twice-yearly sales are also offered in May.
