A new job board will connect transitioning servicemembers and veterans with U.S.-based positions in Korean companies, including Samsung, Hyundai, Kia, and more than two dozen additional participants.
The United States Forces Korea Veterans Employment Platform, developed by the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in partnership with the Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation (KUSAF), launched in March and already includes hundreds of open positions. LG Energy Solution offers dozens of roles, for example, as does SK Group, including some urgent-fill positions.
Veterans and transitioning members can create an account by providing some details on their service or training time in Korea. They can then search job opportunities by company, job title, location, and other categories, and apply online. Spouses of veterans who served or trained in Korea will be able to access the platform in the coming weeks.
“Servicemembers and veterans, and their spouses, have more career tools than they realize,” said Andia Dinesen, AFC, MOAA’s senior director of Career Transition and Member Services. “This job board is a great example of a resource that could lead to unexpected opportunities. A successful job search shouldn’t be limited in scope – do your research, check out all the employers, and find the best fit for you.”

The platform is designed to help Korea-based companies find U.S. employees who are familiar with the country’s culture, according to a press release announcing the site’s launch.
“With Korean companies’ aggressive investments creating jobs in the U.S., we expect former [U.S. Forces-Korea] service members will share these opportunities to strengthen ties between the two countries,” KCCI Executive Vice Chairman Park Il-jun said in the release. “We will continue to upgrade the platform and expand participation by companies so that it can become a representative win-win model of Korea-U.S. cooperation.”
