MOAA earned recognition this month for its commitment to hiring, retaining, and promoting veterans.
The association received the 2026-2027 Vetted Employer Badge on Aug. 7 based on an evaluation of its employment practices regarding members of the uniformed services community.
“We are pleased and proud to honor MOAA for earning recognition as a top veteran employer because they have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to our nation’s veterans, servicemembers, and their families,” said Bruce Townshend, co-founder of Vetted Employers LLC. “The track record of MOAA recruiting and supporting military spouses, as well as recruiting and hiring veterans, was particularly strong and impressive.”

Vetted Employers created the designation to serve as a “trustworthy seal of approval helping military-connected job seekers find workplaces that value their skills, honor their service, and develop programs and policies that nurture their career growth,” according to a press release announcing the honor.
The organization uses a 10-question evaluation that looks at five key areas:
- Veteran recruiting and hiring
- Veteran retention and promotions
- Military-civilian culture and engagement
- Guard and Reserve recruiting and support
- Military spouse recruiting and support
The survey is open to all employers at no cost to participate. Other badge recipients include General Dynamics Electric Boat, TD Bank, and Werner Enterprises.
