The online portal used by TRICARE beneficiaries to access health records from military hospitals and clinics will move to a new login system before the end of the year, though a planned September changeover did not take place.
The MHS GENESIS Patient Portal will move from the DS Logon system to myAuth, a changeover already made by TRICARE contractors in the East and West regions, the Pentagon’s ID Card Office Online, and other platforms. The MHS GENESIS change will only affect those who receive care at military treatment facilities (MTFs).
A TRICARE.mil announcement originally stated the MHS GENESIS changeover would take place Sept. 23. An updated announcement offers no date for the changeover and says the portal “is fully accessible via DS Logon or Common Access Card [CAC].” TRICARE officials did not announce a reason for the update.

The MHS GENESIS patient portal login page link included in the release retained DS Logon access options as of Oct. 5, while patient portal links from other official sites, such as MyArmyBenefits, pointed to a myAuth login page as of that date.
About myAuth
Users with a DS Logon account or a CAC can use those credentials to create a myAuth account. Once created, users can log in using their CAC, the Okta Verify app, or their username and password plus a “secure multi-factor authentication method,” according to the TRICARE announcement – generally a one-time passcode received via email.
(Beneficiaries who access health care data at their TRICARE contractor websites via other login methods – usually via an email registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) – can continue to log in as normal.)
The same account credentials can be used to access any site using myAuth, including milConnect, Military OneSource, and the Express Scripts TRICARE Pharmacy portal. Note: Login options other than myAuth may be available for these and other sites.
MOAA cannot answer individual questions about myAuth login protocols. Beneficiaries experiencing issues with myAuth account creation can visit the myAuth Help center, which includes step-by-step instructions on creating a new account and answers to frequently asked questions. They also can call the Defense Manpower Data Center at (800) 368-3665 with questions.
