Golf is a great way to enjoy time outdoors, get some exercise and relieve stress. But between greens fees, equipment, clothes and lessons for new golfers, this popular pastime can get costly.

 

Fortunately, there are many ways to enjoy the sport using military discounts and services offered on military bases.

Military Golf Courses

Many military installations throughout the world have their own golf courses through Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). They offer open course play, tournaments and events, pro shops, driving ranges, classes and private lessons all for affordable prices. Visit the Military.com Base Guide to find the base near you.

 

Golf Rates

The following golf courses offer military rates:

 

Augustine Golf Club in Stafford, Virginia offers military discounts on golf rates during the week and on weekends and holidays.

 

Bayonet at Puppy Creek in Raeford, North Carolina offers active-duty and retired military a discount off their normal rates. To get the discount, present your military ID at the pro shop.

 

Callaway Gardens in Georgia offers a military discount on lake view and mountain view golf rates.

 

The Club at Hidden Creek in Navarre, Florida offers military discounts. Contact them to find out more.

Disney Golf in Florida offers military discounts any day of the week to active duty and retired military.

 

Maryland National Golf Club offers active and retired military personnel 40% off greens fees anytime.

 

Shades of Green, an Armed Forces Recreation Center on the Walt Disney World property, offers special military discounts on tee times, equipment and clinics.

 

Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan in California offers a military discount on 2025 card rates. Military members pay $249 instead of the regular price of $299. Must book online or through their app for tee time and rate.

 

Virginia Beach National in Virginia offers year-round military discounts. In season (April through November), military green fee rates for active-duty military are $55 on weekdays and $65 on weekends. Out of season (December through March), military rates are $39 on weekdays and $49 on the weekends.

Equipment

The first place to shop should always be your military Exchange. You pay no sales tax, and most exchanges offer a price matching policy.

 

Callaway Golf, TaylorMade Golf and Wilson all offer a 15% military discount off purchases online, and PING offers the “Thank You Troops” Military Rebate on select purchases. (PING typically renews this rebate, so keep checking even past the expiration date.)

 

Wounded Warriors

The nonprofit organization Fairways for Warriors provides golf clinics with instruction for wounded service personnel and their family members as a way to help with physical and emotional rehabilitation.
