TRICARE has issued disaster alerts in four states since March 31, with beneficiaries in the affected regions able to secure emergency prescription refills.

The active alerts, as of April 6:

• Arkansas: Benton and Washington counties, through April 10, after a tornado.
• Florida: Jackson, Leon, and Washington counties, through April 11, after a tornado.
• Mississippi: Jackson, Hinds, and Rankin counties, through April 10, after a tornado.
• Tennessee: Sevier County, through April 10, after a wildfire.

TRICARE has issued 14 disaster alerts since March 1, most in the aftermath of a tornado or wildfire. During an alert, beneficiaries can secure a prescription refill by taking their prescription bottle to any pharmacy in the TRICARE network. Along with updated alerts, TRICARE’s disaster information website also includes disaster-preparation advice, checklists for what to do before and after a weather emergency or other disaster, and links to relief agencies.

Reserve-component members activated during a disaster or other emergency also may see changes to their TRICARE eligibility, as TRICARE considers activation a qualifying life event. Get more information on available plans at this link.
