LCDR Kevin Boyd, USNR (Ret)

Kevin Boyd, PMP, LCDR, USNR (Ret) is the founder and President of Angelus Learning, LLC, and a facilitator for Academy Leadership. After retiring from the Navy in 1994, Kevin joined a consulting company offering human performance improvement and training solutions to Fortune 500 corporations. He worked his way from team member to Director of the largest independent business unit in the company, leading over 50 consultants and Project Managers.

 

In addition to providing performance improvement solutions to his customers, Kevin taught the company’s internal training courses for Leadership, Project Management, and proprietary business processes. He chaired the corporate Project Management Council for two years and served as the Corporate Training Manager, and Human Resources Manager. He served as a Federal employee, leading a team of 15 contract training specialists providing training materials and training program support for the Navy’s implementation of SAP. 

 

For the past seven years, Kevin has provided project management and executive management support to Federal and local agencies in Washington, DC and Maryland.

 

Kevin received a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, and a master’s degree from the Naval Postgraduate School. During his Navy career, Kevin was a naval aviator, flying the E2-C Hawkeye aboard several aircraft carriers in the Pacific Fleet. His final flying assignment was providing executive transport for the Secretary of the Navy, the Chief of Naval Operations, and flag officers assigned to the Washington, D.C., area in a Gulfstream III and a CT-39G Sabreliner. He led several aviation squadron divisions and departments, and a division of IT professionals at the Bureau of Naval Personnel in Washington, D.C.

 

Kevin has demonstrated his passion for servant leadership and accomplishing the organization’s goals through teamwork and compassion for people for over 40 years in the Navy, the Federal government, local government, and the private sector.

 

After work, Kevin practices and teaches the martial arts of Okinawa (karate and kobudo). He lives in Severn, Md., and has three adult children and one grandson.
