Kevin Matthews is the owner of Beta Solutions CPA and has been practicing in tax since 2003 and in accounting services since 2011. Kevin began his tax work as a volunteer in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program alongside fellow sailors and Marines during his Navy service. After leaving the Navy, Kevin went into public accounting practice working on a variety of tax areas, but was eventually selected to join KPMG in 2014, where he worked on inpat/expat returns.

In 2016, Kevin set off to set up his own practice and has been owner of Beta ever since; it will celebrate its 10-year anniversary in later 2026. Previously, Kevin was also an Inst Assistant Professor of Accounting at George Mason University, primarily in the area of tax, tax analytics, and business accounting, for almost seven years.
