Jessica Ashmore, DHA

Jessica Ashmore, DHA, grew up in Shawnee, Okla., and is a proud Marine Corps military spouse of 15 years and a mother of three young children. These personal experiences as a military spouse have instilled in her a deep passion for supporting military families and advocating for their well-being, particularly when it comes to health care access, affordability, and quality.

Jessica’s career in health care spans years of hands-on experience, from pre-hospital emergency care to administration, where she witnessed firsthand the full spectrum of military health care — the good, the bad, and the sometimes ugly. This inspired her to pursue a doctorate in health care administration, and she now applies that expertise in military medical research as a research program coordinator in support of the Extremity Trauma and Amputation Center of Excellence.

Driven by her commitment to health care excellence, Jessica aims to advance access, equity, and opportunity for the military community. Through research, advocacy, and service, she seeks to address systemic gaps and create meaningful, lasting improvements in the care and support available to those who serve, especially during PCS moves. Her ultimate goal is to aid servicemembers, veterans, and their families by ensuring that quality, affordable health care is not just a priority, but a reality.
