Mission

Our mission is to promote the interest of those who serve in the military, those who have served, and those who will serve. We strive to make a difference through educating the public on national security issues and expanding Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) reach. We promote fellowship among active, retired, and former military members and their surviving spouses. We monitor and promote the national legislative programs and other objectives of MOAA; We assist by advocating for a strong national defense, and provide useful services to members, their dependents, and their survivors. We participate in appropriate community service projects and scholarship programs such as the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and Junior ROTC programs.

Information on Joining the Chapter

Membership in the Louisville Chapter is open to any officer or warrant officer in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. A Membership Application may be obtained by writing to MOAA Louisville, P.O. Box 6891, Louisville, Kentucky,40206-0891

Chapter Activities

The Chapter holds monthly luncheon meetings which feature guest speakers that present information such as national security issues.
MEETINGS: Luncheon meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month
the December meeting is held on the second Tuesday of December
the executive committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month
the Annual General Membership Business Meeting is held in November when officers for the following year are elected. Those officers elected are installed in January.

We strive to participate in military celebration activities, such as Memorial Day and Veteran's Day Services, as well as award and recognition programs for outstanding JROTC cadets

General Information

Goals of the Louisville MOAA Chapter are:
• To inculcate and stimulate love of our country and the flag
• To defend the honor, integrity and supremacy of our National Government and the Constitution of the United States;
• To advocate for military forces to the defense of our country;
• To foster the integrity and prestige of uniformed service;
• To foster fraternal relations among all branches of the various Services from which our members are drawn;
• To further the education of veterans and their children
• To aid active and retired personnel of the various Services from which our members are drawn, and their dependents and survivors to represent their rights and interests when Service matters are under consideration
• To erect and maintain a monument in the Veteran's Park to honor the Jefferson County veterans inducted in the Kentucky Veterans Hall of Fame.
