Information on Joining the Chapter

Chapter Activities

Chapter luncheons are normally held on the third Saturday of each month, January through April and October and November (ang possibly December).
Luncheons are typically held at the Saddlebrooke Ranch Grill (located at Saddlebrooke Ranch) or at Saddlebrooke HOA1 or HOA2 facilities (located immediately north of Catalina, AZ). Reservations are required, and RSVP requests are emailed prior to each luncheon. Luncheons begin promptly at 11:30 AM and usually feature a speaker. Here is a list of upcoming events:

    • 15 October 2022. Fire Chief Randy Karrer, Fire Chief of Golder Ranch First District.
Fire Chief Karrer's talk is titled "Don't play with matches".
    • 19 November 2022. Harvey Ferguson.
Harvey will talk about General Lucian Trucott(the last Calvary Man commanding general of the 3rd Army Division in WWII) and Ferguson's life as a soldier and policeman.
    • 17 December 2022. Ray Carley, Chapter member.
Ray is the author of the book "Cat Killer #3" and was an Army "bird dog" pilot in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.
    • 14 January 2023. Command Sergeant Major Rick Krieberg. Rick will talk about Veterans Affinity, a program he founded and currently leads that helps older veterans get the help and benefits they need. He concentrates more on Korean and Vietnam era veterans rather than Gulf War and later veterans.

    General Information

The Catalina Mountains Chapter, in partnership with the Tucson Chapter, has actively provided community support. This support includes raising funds for
Esperanza En Escalante, awaiting scholarships to University of Arizona ROTC students, and participating in Wreaths Across America in December.

    About Our Chapter

The Catalaina Mountains Chapter is one of ten MOAA chapters in the state of Arizona. The Catalina Mountains Chapter began as a satellite chapter of the Tucson Chapter in 2015 and became a stand-alone MOAA chapter in 2022. The Chapter was formed because there were several members of the Tucson Chapter that lived in Saddlebrook, Saddlebrooke Ranch, Oro Valley and Marana, all located north of Tucson. These members, living north of Tucson, wanted to meet somewhere north of Tucson for lunch on a monthly basis.
