MOAA Charities is awarding 74 Community Outreach Grants totaling more than $190,000 to 52 MOAA affiliates — a program record in grants and funds awarded.
The grants support MOAA councils and chapters providing services to local military and veteran families — either directly or through partnerships with other community organizations — in one of 10 areas of critical military and veteran family needs: housing, food assistance, employment, health (including behavioral health), family support, community reintegration, financial assistance, legal assistance, transportation, and crisis relief.
The 2026 grants will support food-assistance programs for veterans and uniformed service families in need, awards and scholarships for students in Junior ROTC and ROTC programs, veteran treatment courts, and Stand Downs for veterans, among other high-impact local programs.
“The programs our councils and chapters are involved with and support continue to grow — both in quantity and impact to the uniformed services community,” said Amanda Centers, MOAA’s vice president of Development. “MOAA Charities had a record number of applicants this year for Community Outreach Grants, and because of the generosity of our donors, we were able to provide a record number of grants. We are impressed by the impact our councils and chapters have in their local communities and are proud to support their efforts.”
