The new classes of MOAA’s Currently Serving Advisory Council and Currently Serving Spouse Advisory Council recently joined the groups.
The councils advise MOAA’s president on issues affecting the currently serving community and discuss, deliberate, and recommend improvements on current and potential MOAA programs, plans, and policies.
Council members are currently serving officers in one of the eight uniformed services and spouses of currently serving officers.
Their perspectives on a number of issues help MOAA bring greater value to association members, engage members and prospective members through products and services, and align efforts to meet the pillars of MOAA’s strategic plan.
Advisory council members serve two-year terms, meet quarterly, and often participate in national MOAA events, such as Advocacy in Action on Capitol Hill each spring. They also are encouraged to meet with their local lawmakers to advocate for legislation affecting the uniformed services community.
