Military Officer Magazine Honored For Feature on Opioid Abuse

MOAA's monthly magazine Military Officer continues its longstanding tradition of winning awards for both content and design.

The magazine was a finalist in two categories in this year's Excel Awards, which were given Monday by Association Media & Publishing. The feature “Addicted,” which appeared in the Sept. 2017 issue, won Bronze. The feature “Military Brats,” which ran in the April 2017 issue, also won Bronze at Monday's event. In addition, MOAA was also chosen to present the magazine's recent redesign at the Association Media & Publishing annual conference in Washington, D.C.

“We're proud to continue the tradition of delivering award-winning content and design to our members each month," said MOAA's President and CEO Lt. Gen. Dana Atkins, USAF (Ret.). "These latest honors reflect design and content improvements to Military Officer magazine, improvements based directly on reader feedback and the preferences of our members.”

Military Officer also recently received two Graphic Design USA awards for the second year in a row. The awards were for the design of the May 2017 feature “100 Years of the NOAA Commissioned Officer Corps,” and for the April 2018 feature “Heavy Topics on Small Shoulders.”
