Director’s Notes: Looking Ahead

Greetings all,

We just completed our second full Council and Chapter Leadership Workshop, held in Memphis, Tenn., Sept. 15-16. By all accounts, it was a great success. Several of the attendees liked the smaller, regional model as it allowed for more direct interaction with the MOAA staff as well as crosstalk with other chapter leaders. Our final workshop for 2017 will be held in Oklahoma City Nov. 3-4. Check out our website for the 2018 dates and locations

Here at headquarters, we are gearing up to launch the new MOAA Newsletter, which will consolidate many of our current electronic newsletters into one easy-to-read, personalized communication. You’ll be able to customize the content you receive and determine how often you want to hear from us, whether it’s weekly, biweekly, or monthly.

As a chapter member, you’ll continue to receive The Affiliate monthly from the Councils and Chapters team, just as you are now — the big difference is you also will receive your legislative updates and other key information at the same time. In the coming weeks, you’ll begin to see more details about the new MOAA Newsletter along with an invitation to visit our email preference center to customize your settings. Please be on the lookout for these communications and take action to ensure you’re getting the news you want, when you want it!

And finally, I encourage you to nominate your surviving spouse liaison for MOAA’s Surviving Spouse Liaison Excellence Award. Details are included in this issue.

Thanks for your leadership and continued support!
