… to the Alameda (Calif.) Chapter, which chartered the former presidential yacht Potomac to take chapter members, including members from nearby MOAA chapters, and guests out on the San Francisco Bay to watch the Navy’s Blue Angels practice over the water for Fleet Week activities. More than 120 people participated in the cruise.

Kudos for hosting a unique and fun way to bring together chapter members!

 

 

... to the Virginia Peninsula Chapter for donating to the Liberty Lounge at Colonial Williamsburg. The lounge is a rest stop for servicemembers and veterans and their families in the Historic Area. We hear chapter members also volunteer at Liberty Lounge.

… to the Indian River (Fla.) Chapter, which donated $200 to the annual Veterans Outreach Golf Tournament. The tournament raised over $22,000 to benefit veterans in Indian River County.

 

Well done supporting this community effort!

 

 

… to the Kitsap (Wash.) Chapter for making a monetary donation to the Washington State Veterans Home Retsil Building 9. Building 9 is transition housing for homeless male and female veterans and operates with limited public funding.

… to the Montgomery Area (Ala.) Chapter, which raised through its golf tournament more than $7,800 for the Montgomery Area Military Officers Scholarship Foundation.
