Head for the hills. We’ve found military discounts for ski resorts from coast to coast — and in the Midwest, too.

Catskills, N.Y.

Villa Roma , a family-friendly Italian-themed resort, offers active duty military members a 10-percent discount (ID required). The resort has two ski slopes with a chair lift, a tube run, and a ski school. Call (800) 533-6767.

Lake Geneva, Wis.

The Lake Geneva area claims the best skiing in the Midwest. Military members can save on nearby accommodations, including:

Lake Tahoe, Calif.

Diamond Peak Ski Resort , Tahoe’s “friendliest mountain” in Incline Village, is famous for great lake views and not crowded. It offers free midweek skiing and snow boarding to active duty military members when you show your valid military ID at the lift ticket window. Discounts also are available for retired servicemembers, military dependents, and anyone over age 65. Over age 80? Ski free, any day, all day. See a full list of prices here. Call (775) 832-1177.

Mount Snow, Vt.

Mount Snow in the Green Mountains offers active duty and retired servicemembers discountsof up to 40 percent. The resort boasts nearly skiable acres across four mountain faces and North America’s only six-passenger bubble lift. Call (800) 245-SNOW (7669).

Mount Hood, Ore.

Timberline Lodge in the Mount Hood territory offers active duty military members 25 percent off. If you’re over 71 years old, ski free (ask for Senior Legacy tickets). Timberline offers North America’s longest ski season (from early November or sooner through Memorial Day). Call (503) 272-3158.
