Magnuson holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. During his nearly 30-year career in nonprofit management, Magnuson has led communications, marketing, and membership teams in several industries, including education, health care, finance, and recreation. He holds the CAE credential from the American Society of Association Executives.
As MOAA’s vice president of Communications, Magnuson is responsible for leading the organization’s effort to build engagement, amplify mission-critical messages, and deliver award-winning content across all media channels. His key areas of responsibility include Military Officer magazine, The MOAA Newsletter, and MOAA’s social media outlets. He has the privilege of leading an incredible team of creative thinkers, writers, and designers.
