Mission

The mission of the Four State MOAA Chapter is to benefit the members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors, and to advocate for a strong national defense, while providing needed support to the community and its members.

Information on Joining the Chapter

Membership in the Four State MOAA Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses.

Chapter Activities

The Four State MOAA Chapter holds 12 meetings a year featuring guest speakers on topics relevant to the members. A special Annual meeting/Christmas party is held each December for election of chapter officers and fellowship. The chapter supports 6 local JROTC programs and a SROTC at Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS. Additionally, the chapter supports an Officer Candidate School at Missouri Southern State University (MSSU), Joplin, MO that is sponsored by the Missouri National Guard.

The chapter also supports the Veterans Court of Jasper County, MO; the Veterans Home at Mt. Vernon, MO, Museum of Flight at Joplin, MO; annual Veteran's Day observances; placement of missing Veteran headstones and providing Veteran memorial stones at local War memorials.

Legislative Issues

The Four State MOAA Chapter supports the MOAA national legislative agenda, and we annually invite our Congressional Representative and Senators to speak to the chapter. The chapter is also active in supporting the state council in various state veterans' issues.

General Information

The Four State MOAA Chapter meetings are lunch or dinner meetings held on the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 1:00 PM or 6:00 PM. Locations vary and are announced in the chapter newsletter and at chapter meetings.

The Four State MOAA Chapter provides service to the four corners of SW Missouri, SE Kansas, NE Oklahoma, and NW Arkansas.
