His work there included stints as a copy editor for the entire suite of publications, a news editor at Navy Times, a staff writer at Army Times, and a cross-service editor responsible for pay and benefits content, VA and veterans affairs materials, and features. Lilley also contributed to the After Action sports blog and led coverage of Army-Navy football contests.
Prior to working at Sightline Media, Lilley worked on the news and sports desks at community papers on both coasts. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1998 with a degree in political science and English writing/journalism.
