A first-of-its-kind survey seeking input from the 110,000 servicemembers enrolled in DoD’s Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) will close March 31.
All servicemembers who take part in the mandatory program should have received an email inviting them to complete the survey and providing a ticket number. Those who didn’t receive the email can go to the survey portal to get a ticket number. Servicemembers who have issues accessing the survey can contact the Survey Processing Center at (800) 881-5307.
It’s the first comprehensive survey of EFMP participants, and it’s designed so “families can make sure DoD understands where its policies and programs are helping them and where improvements can be made,” said Patricia Montes Barron, deputy assistant secretary of defense for Military Community and Family Policy, in a 2022 press release announcing the survey. “Leadership will take the results from this survey seriously.”

The survey will focus on identification and enrollment policies, along with assignment coordination and family support. Family members are encouraged to assist their servicemember with filling out the survey. Responses “will be reviewed confidentially,” according to the news release.
