More than 175 commissary locations nationwide will participate in Sidewalk Sales this September, offering savings on snacks, pet food, canned goods, and many other products, including non-food items.

Dates for the sales vary, with most locations hosting a two- or three-day outdoor event. Find your local store on the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) website to see scheduled sale dates, but DeCA recommends checking your store’s webpage for any late changes, including weather-related postponements.

Commissary store websites also include contact information (phone and email), details on other ongoing sales (including store flyers), store hours, and curbside pickup or delivery options, where available.

Many stores will hold the sales over the Labor Day weekend. Large bases with multiple stores may have multiple sales – Fort Bragg, N.C., will host its sales on Sept. 1-4 (South store) and Sept. 28-30 (North store), for example.

The sales, formerly called case lot sales, primarily feature materials in bulk. Deals vary by location. Similar sales were held in many locations in May as part of Military Appreciation Month.
