MOAA representatives participated in the National Veterans Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery on Sunday along with 24 other members and 21 associate members of the Veterans Day National Committee. The observance also served to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1918 armistice that ended World War I.

Each year, members of the Veterans Day National Committee lay wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in honor of those who lost lives in service to our country.

Lt. Col. Bill Watts, USA (Ret), and Col. Fred Edwards, USA (Ret), of the Northern Virginia Chapter of MOAA served as color bearers for the ceremony. Maj. Peter Dulniawka, USA (Ret), and Lt. Col. Alfred “Carl” Jurison, USA (Ret), of the Mount Vernon Chapter laid the wreath with MOAA's CEO and President, Lt. Gen. Dana T. Atkins, USAF (Ret), at the Tomb of the Unknowns.

"We will never be able to repay the debt of gratitude we owe the brave men and women who have served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard," President Donald Trump said in his Veterans Day proclamation. "Their commitment to the preservation of our ideals and way of life is deserving of our highest levels of devotion and support."
