Robinson graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., in 1994. His tours in the Marine Corps included 2nd Force Reconnaissance Company; Mobilization Command; Central Command; and the National Security Council. He began his civilian career working for Morgan Stanley and was recalled to active duty after 9/11.

He currently serves in the Senior Executive Service at the Department of Homeland Security working with a variety of organizations.
