Check Out These 2021 Military Appreciation Month Discounts

While many merchants still report offering discounts during this ever-changing time of closures and alternate schedules some may not be available. Always check with the company for full details on their hours and offerings.


Service members and families are being honored during Military Appreciation Month with a variety of discounts in 2021. Below are some highlighted offerings.


Information on discounts will be added as it becomes available. Please check back frequently as the list is updated.


2021 Military Appreciation Month Discounts 

Academy Sports + OutdoorsCurrent and former military members get 10% off their entire purchase both in-store and online May 2 through July 5.


Blue Star Museums: Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel, including the National Guard and Reserves, and their families. The 2021 Blue Star Museums program begins on Armed Forces Day (May 15) and ends on Labor Day (September 6).

Cincinnati Zoo: All members of the military will receive free admission on Memorial Day. The offer also allows military personnel to purchase up to six half-price admission tickets for members of their immediate family.


Colonial Williamsburg: Active-duty military, Reservists, National Guard personnel, retired military and veterans receive complimentary admission once annually for themselves and up to three direct dependents on either Memorial Day weekend or Veterans Day weekend. 


Colonial Williamsburg has also joined Blue Star Museums so active-duty military personnel and up to five family members can get one single day museum ticket to the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg from May 15 through September 6.


Home Depot: All veterans are eligible for Home Depot's 10% military discount on Memorial Day with a DoD-issued ID, a DD214 or a Veterans Driver’s License. (This discount is good for veterans on July 4th and Veterans Day as well.)


Idlewild and SoakZone: Idlewild and SoakZone offers free admission to military personnel on May 29, 30 and 31. You may also purchase discounted military admission for family members online (when it becomes available mid-May).


Indianapolis Zoo: Current and former members of the military are admitted free on Memorial Day. Plus, all non-military family members receive a $2 discount on day-of, on-site ticket purchases.


Magic Springs Theme and Water Park: Magic Springs is saluting members of the military with free admission May 29 through June 13. Bring your military ID to any ticket window. Family members receive $10 off Main Gate Admission when accompanied by a military member.


Mission BBQ: Veterans and active-duty military get a free sandwich the week of May 10. (Dates vary by service branch.)

Rack Room Shoes: Rack Room Shoes offers a 20% discount off your entire purchase in stores on Memorial Day to anyone with a military ID. 


SeaWorld: Military veterans and their families get free admission to SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Antonio, and SeaWorld San Diego, April 27 through June 27. You must register the free single-day ticket(s) for yourself and up to three dependents online before May 16, and after registering, all tickets must be redeemed by June 27. Veterans and active-duty service members can also purchase up to six additional tickets at 50% off.


Silverwood Theme Park: Military personnel and veterans receive free admission on May 29, 30 and 31. Their immediate family members (spouse and children) also receive a special discounted rate when purchasing tickets at Silverwood's front gate.


Splashway Waterpark and Campground: Active military, veterans and their immediate family receive 50% off tickets at the gate on Memorial Day.


Sun Splash Family Waterpark: On May 31, active or retired military, disabled veterans, and military reservists receive a free one-day admission, and up to 4 family members accompanying military personnel can receive a $3 discount.
