Heather Walrath

Heather Walrath is a military spouse and an accredited financial educator who has enjoyed working with military members and families for the last 14 years while empowering them with financial education. She is a 2009 FINRA Military Spouse Fellow and also holds a BA in economics from the University of Georgia and a paralegal certificate from the Denver Paralegal Institute.

 

Heather has worked as a Personal Financial Counselor (PFC) with all branches of the military, including the Guard and Reserve components, as part of both the nonprofit educator sector and the Department of Defense PFC network. She has supported numerous Yellow Ribbon events, provided one-on-one counseling, and offered a variety of educational programing to our military communities.

 

Heather has the also served our military community for over 25 years as a military spouse with involvement and leadership in many base and community military events and organizations. Her passion is providing members with correct, unbiased information about the DoD Survivor Benefit Program and other survivor entitlement programs. She facilitates SBP presentations at military installations throughout the country to help members and their spouses make informed decisions. She believes in “blooming where you are planted” and taking full advantage of all the programs and benefits offered as a part of military service.

 

Heather also enjoys taking the opportunity to explore new places with her husband, two sons, and Irish doodle dog. Heather and her family have finally put down roots in northern Virginia and enjoy being an active part of the community.
