The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is sponsoring free military transition presentations on a variety of topics. Unless otherwise noted, these presentations are given on installations across the country, and attendance should be coordinated by calling the installation Transition Office. Marketing Yourself for a Second Career

Transition is ultimately a part of all military careers. This lecture is designed for those who are contemplating separation from the military in one to five years. It is important to be educated about the process - especially during these times of force shaping, force reductions, and selective early retirements.

The lecture will be given by a deputy director of transition services from MOAA's national staff. The presentation, given annually at over 150 military installations nationwide, includes comprehensive information on the retirement decision itself, the current job market, employer perceptions, your competition, resumes, cover letters, job search, networking, career fairs, interview techniques, salary negotiation, benefits packages, and other relevant and important transition topics such as financial and benefits changes after transition.

The presentation is geared toward officers and senior enlisted, but those of all ranks are warmly welcomed. Civilians, spouses and retirees are highly encouraged to attend as well! All who attend will receive a free copy of the MOAA Career Transition Essentials. This informative guide is based on the lecture material and provides numerous tips on career transition as well as being a handy reference for the transition process.
