Col. Vincent A. Lane, USA-Ret.

1902 - January 1975

Vincent enlisted in the National Guard in 1918, at the age of 16, and had attained the rank of Major at the time he was called up for active service on 2 January, 1941. He served in the Guadalcanal, Papua, New Guinea, and the Southern Philippines; and was the Executive Officer and Operations Officer of the U. S. Army General Staff in Washington, D.C.

He was honorably discharged 4 October, 1946, with the rank of Colonel. Until the time of his death in January, 1975, he remained active in many military organizations including the National Sojourners and the Foundation for A National Library and Museum on Americanism. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
