If you are one of 23.3 million servicemembers, past or present, from all branches of the military and the three uniformed services, MOAA exists to protect your earned benefits and to offer you resources you can't find anywhere else. But most importantly, we're here to help you connect with one another. Why? Because we believe in taking care of those who take care of us.
Currently, we're 350,000 members strong. If you're an active duty, retired, or former military officer, consider joining our ranks. Because the more voices we have, the better we'll be heard.
BASIC MOAA membership is free. You’ll get e-newsletters on current military topics, and opportunities to participate in grassroots efforts. But that’s only the beginning.
As a BASIC Member, you’ll also enjoy money-saving discounts, and access to the digital version of our magazine, Military Officer. Not to mention participation in MOAA’s spouse support program, dedicated to informing and empowering the men and women who stand beside our nation’s heroes.
Members also receive a host of other benefits, including career assistance, scholarship opportunities, and networking events.
Since 1929, MOAA’s greatest mission has been to protect your earned military benefits. Through tireless advocacy, we’ve forged a legacy of success benefiting the entire military community.
1.Ensure any changes to the Military Health System sustain military-medical readiness and beneficiary access to top-quality care.
2.Sustain military pay comparability with the private sector and block erosion of compensation and non-pay quality of life benefits.
3.Protect family support programs, and ensure military-provided services (housing, PCS, child care) are affordable, readily available, and meet quality standards.
4.End financial penalties for military survivors.
5.End concurrent receipt penalties for military retirees.
6.Achieve equity of benefits, protections, and administrative support for Guard/Reserve members consistent with their active duty counterparts.
7.Ensure timely access to service-earned benefits, and resist proposals to erode foundational services delivered through the VA and DoD.
8.Support legislation, policies, and programs to enable the uniformed services to recruit, retain, and manage personnel.
