5 reasons you should worry.

  1. The president's budget has proposed large and unfair increases to the cost of your health care benefits.
  2. The budget proposes a special commission responsible for recommending changes in the military retirement system for future entrants.
  3. The budget intends to severely limit future military pay raises.
  4. The bottom line? Your health care costs could increase by more than 300% in just five years.
  5. The biggest reason you should worry is that your defense and service leaders can't stand in the way of Congress or the administration as they attempt to cut your pay and benefits.

These threats are the most serious in decades.

A $51 Billion Health Care Hike.

The White House released its latest budget proposal in February, and the details are alarming. All told, TRICARE fee proposals will involve shifting $51 billion in health care costs from the Pentagon to retirees over the next 10 years.

These changes would result in significant fee hikes for nearly every segment of the military population, including retirees of all ages, guardmembers and reservists, and currently serving family members.

You can help fight these changes and continue to receive the benefits you were promised. Join MOAA and add your own voice to the struggle for fair treatment — for you and others who bear the burden of serving our nation.
