Survey Says: Oppose COLA Cuts

January 17, 2014

More than 16,000 respondents participated in MOAA’s online survey last week to measure reactions to the COLA-cutting provision in the recently passed Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013.

In total, almost 95 percent of respondents opposed the COLA cut.

63 percent of those surveyed believe the cuts break faith with those who have served. Another 31 percent feel that other federal spending programs should be targeted for cuts before military retirement.

MOAA believes the negative impact to the morale of the currently serving force is already surfacing.  A full repeal is needed immediately to keep from breaking faith with those currently serving and for those that have served over two decades in uniform.
