SBP Discharge Petition Nonsigners

Key

- Cosponsor H.R. 808
- Cosponsor H.R. 2131
- Cosponsor of both

As of Dec. 22, 253 U.S. representatives had cosponsored legislation to end deduction of VA survivor benefits from Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) payments when servicemembers die of service-connected causes. But 107 (names listed below) of those 253 who cosponsored had not signed Rep. Chet Edwards’ (D-Texas) discharge petition to bring the legislation up for a vote. Legislators who support the bills should sign the discharge petition. If your representative is on this list, please write (U.S. House of Representatives, Washington, D.C. 20515); call toll-free, (866) 272-6622; or e-mail via MOAA’s Web site (http://capwiz.com/moaa/home/) to ask him or her to back up that stated support with action.
