Col. Marvin J. Harris Communications Award Contest

MOAA renamed the award in 2011 after Colonel Marvin J. Harris, USAF (Ret), Director of Public Relations from 1996 until 2011. Colonel Harris delivered effective communications to both military and civilian audiences. Each year, national MOAA holds a communications award contest to identify those councils and chapters that do an outstanding job communicating with their members and community. 

For eligibility consideration:

  1. Councils and chapters must nominate themselves – *only one nomination entry per council or chapter.
  2. Submissions must be received via email by MOAA's Council and Chapter Affairs Department by February 1, 2018. *please note, newsletter submissions should have the “previous calendar year date on it”; example: when making your submission on or before February 1, 2018 – your published print/e-newsletter must have a “2017” date on it).
  3.  To enter the contest, affiliate leaders should first review and complete the Instructions and checklist form.

Using the instructions and checklist, affiliate leaders can submit entries in one or two categories of competition:

2. Websites
