Mission

Our mission is threefold: to reinforce the bonds of fellowship and camaraderie we forged on active duty; to engage in community service activities related to veterans and the armed forces; and to act as "boots on the ground" for the legislative agenda of MOAA National.

Information on Joining the Chapter

Membership in the VF MOAA Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. To join, please contact our Membership Chair, Brendan Murphy, at brendan.j.murphy8@gmail.com or call him at 757-575-2634. Dues are $15 annually. Brendan will send a membership form via the postal system or email to you ASAP.

Chapter Activities

The Valley Forge Chapter is proud to support 4 collegiate and 7 high school ROTC/JROTC programs in our area through our Liberty Bell Scholarship Program. We are also proud to serve on the Advisory Council to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Veterans Home in Spring City, and the Freedom Foundation's Medal of Honor Grove at Valley Forge. Our members routinely add new community activities to our annual calendar, which are listed in the chapter's quarterly newsletter, accessible via www.pa-coc.org. New members are welcome to suggest any others! Additional information on scholarships available to relatives of veterans can be found at: http://www.affordablecolleges.com/resources/scholarships-for-military/

Legislative Issues

The MOAA Chapter supports the MOAA national legislative agenda and we annually invite our Congressional Representative and Senators to speak to the chapter. The chapter is also active in supporting the state council in various state veterans' issues. To speak to our Legislative Affairs Committee Chair, reach out to Will Conley at: wkconley@verizon.net

General Information

The Chapter holds a quarterly luncheon at different venues throughout the Greater Philadelphia Metropolitan Area and a Monthly Camaraderie Breakfast. Both events are suspended in compliance with guidelines established by the CDC in response to the COVID pandemic.

About Our Chapter

The Valley Forge Chapter is located in historic Valley Forge, Pennsylvania - in the shadow of America's most revered national parks. We serve MOAA members and former uniformed services officers in Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties. Our mailing address is: Military Officers Association of America Valley Forge Chapter PO Box 254 Valley Forge, Pennsylvania 19481 Upcoming events have been cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. The Valley Forge Chapter was established May 22, 1972 at Valley Forge Army Hospital in Phoenixville, PA, and is named for the legendary encampment of the Continental Army during our war for independence. We are dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and ensuring our nation keeps its commitments to currently serving, retired and former uniformed members and their spouses.
