Mission

The mission of the Sumner County Chapter is to benefit the members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors and to advocate for a strong national defense, while providing needed support to the community and its members.

Information on Joining the Chapter

Membership in the MOAA Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. Chapter Activities

The Chapter holds monthly dinner meetings on the fourth Thursday of the month. Each meeting has a special speaker that covers such areas as financial planning, healthcare, and local activities and events. Also the Chapter supports the JROTC units at Station Camp High School and Hendersonville High School. At our annual Christmas Party we collect gifts for the USMCR Toys for Tots program and food donations for the local food bank.

Legislative Issues

The MOAA Chapter supports the MOAA national legislative agenda and we annually invite our Congressional Representative and Senators to speak to the chapter. The chapter is also active in supporting the state council in various state veterans' issues.

General Information

Members are called prior to the monthly dinner meetings to determine their attendance. Also the Chapter publishes a monthly newsletter with information concerning the monthly meeting, future activities and recent events. The newsletter also contains legislative and benefit information.

About Our Chapter

The Sumner County Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA)is composed active, reserve,retired military officers, and their survivors. The Chpater serves members in the Sumner County area of Tennessee. We have 70 plus members from the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force.
