Our mission is to promote the purposes and objectives of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA); foster fraternal relations among retired, active duty, and former officers of the uniformed services and their reserve components; protect the rights and interests of active duty, retired, and reserve component personnel of the uniformed services and their depen­dents and survivors; provide useful services for members and their dependents and survivors; and serve the community and the nation.

Membership in the chapter is open to men and women who are serving or have served on active duty or in one of the reserve components as a commissioned or warrant officer in one of the U.S. uniformed ser­vices (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) as well as survivors of any deceased individuals who would, if living, be eligible for membership.  To join, please contact Larry Hess at 301-943-3434 or hess_le@comcast.net for additional information.

Our chapter supports national MOAA, the Delaware Council of Chapters and local legislative issues, e.g., income, pensions, taxes and military retirees’ and veterans’ rights and benefits.

Our chapter meets on the third Tuesday of each month from January to May and September through November. The chapter meets at 1200 at the Lewes Diner, 1201 Savannah Rd, Lewes, DE 19958.

The Southern Delaware Chapter serves MOAA members in Sussex County. The chapter was chartered on September 20, 1983. We are dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and ensuring our nation keeps its commitments to active duty, retired, former officers of the uniformed services, their reserve components and their spouses.
