Mission

The mission of the Northeast Mississippi Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) is to promote the purposes and objectives of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA); foster fraternal and social relations among active duty, retired, and former officers of the uniformed services and their reserve components; protect the rights and interests of active duty, retired, and reserve component personnel of the uniformed services and their dependents and survivors; provide useful services for members and their dependents and survivors; and serve the community and the nation.

Information on Joining the Chapter

All who have served honorably as a federally commissioned or warrant officer of the seven Uniformed Services (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, and NOAA) are welcome to join. They include: Officers on the retired list (receiving retired pay or not) Active duty officers, Warrant officers, Reserve component officers, And former officers separated under conditions acceptable to the Board of Directors. Chapter Activities

The Chapter has a general membership meeting six times a year. For 2016, the meetings are scheduled for the second Monday of February, April, June, August, October,and December. Generally, Chapter business is discussed and votes are taken after dessert. 2016 Chapter Goals 1.Increase chapter membership by at least 10%. 2.Establish committee to investigate and determine feasibility of starting a Junior ROTC Program with the Tupelo Public School District. 3.Continue support of the “Gold Bar Program” with the University of Mississippi ROTC programs (Army, Air Force, Navy/Marine) for commissioning ceremonies each year. (MG Bob Chesnut and COL Bill Allen are Co-Chairs.) 4.Participate and assist other organizations in obtaining funds to provide a miniature Viet Nam Wall for the Tupelo Veterans Park.

General Information

The Chapter meets on alternate months in Tupelo MS. at the Summitt Center. Social time is 1830 followed by a meal at 1900. Spouses are included. Contact the Chapter Secretary at 662-397-3055 for additional information.

About Our Chapter

The Northeast Mississippi Chapter of MOAA was chartered on December 13, 2010.
