Mrs. Anne Patton was born and raised in Southern California. In 1962, she married a naval aviator, CDR Willie Harris, who died on active duty in 1966. In 1969 she married another aviator, CDR Peter Patton. He retired in 1972 and died several years later of cancer. She has four sons and seven grandchildren.
In mid-life, Mrs. Patton decided to complete her education. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, San Diego, and later received a master's degree from the University of San Diego.
She has followed a varying career path. Anne was a busy and successful artist exhibiting and selling her oil paintings. She also worked in the securities business as well as in medical office management. But her real love was (and is) urban planning along with political consulting, which she did for several years before retiring. She still consults occasionally.
Mrs. Patton has served on numerous boards and commissions, including 13 years voluntary service to the City of Encinitas, where she lives. During this time, Mrs. Patton served as chair of the Design Review Board, chair of the Housing Commission and eight years as a planning commissioner. Today she remains actively involved with her favorite causes and serves on several other boards.
Mrs. Patton is a national MOAA auxiliary member and has been a member of Gold Star Wives for many years. She also belongs to the San Diego Chapter of MOAA |
