SAILED TO VIETNAM ABOARD THE WALKER?
The Vietnam Graffiti Project wants you!

The project, founded by MOAA Central Virginia Chapter honorary member Art Beltrone and his wife Lee, is looking for anyone who traveled to Vietnam on the troopship General Nelson M. Walker. Officers who traveled on the ship during World War II and the Korean War are also invited to participate.

Personal voyage experiences are being collected for use in a planned interactive web exhibit with the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. A questionnaire will be sent to each participant, and an audio-recorded interview may also be conducted.

The Walker’s service ended with Vietnam, as did a military transport tradition—the use of the troopship. The Vietnam Graffiti Project is dedicated to documenting that history. The personal histories will be shared with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project, Washington, DC, and Military History Institute, Carlisle, PA.

To participate, email the Vietnam Graffiti Project at—beltrone@cstone.net. The telephone number in Keswick, Virginia is 434-296-1288.
