Cpl. Torchy West, USAF—I am looking for her. She was in an
article in the June 1946 issue of Air Force Journal, now Airman
magazine. She was stationed at Hamilton Field and was assigned to
ATC as a crew chief on C-54s flying between Hamilton and Hawaii. She
is from Oklahoma and had worked at one of the Douglas plants
inspecting C-47s before enlisting in the AWC. She would be about 77

Pfc. Clifford H. Bartow, Pvt. Foster V. Bowden, Pvt. T.F. Duarte,

KIA in August 1944, during WWII, while with the 1st Special Service
Force in southern France. Bartow was from White Plains, N.Y.; Bowden

Chaplain 1st Lt. Joseph Verbis Lafleur, USAF—I am looking for
information about his services at Clark Field when bombed by the
Japanese on same day as Pearl Harbor; his services as a POW on the
islands of Luzon, Leyte, and Mindonao; and his death aboard the
Japanese ship Shinya-Maru when it was sunk by an American submarine

Maj. Earl R. Kindig, USA—I am looking for anyone who served
with him during WWII. He was CO of the 121st FA Bn in Operation
Michaelmas, Saidor, New Guinea. On Feb. 7, 1944, he went MIA in an
L-4A while directing artillery fire on Japanese forces on Gabutamon
Ridge. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in October 2001.
