Each year during July and August, about 70 chapters take a break from chapter meetings and pause for vacations before resuming chapter meetings again in September.

Each year during the August congressional recess, legislators return to their home districts and meet with constituents.

VA Launches "Summer of Service" 
The VA recently launched its “Summer of Service” initiative and is seeking support from local citizens, communities, veterans service organizations, and private and nonprofit organizations such as MOAA.

Tip of the Hat
… to members of the Alamo (Texas) Chapter who invited all 14 of San Antonio’s mayoral candidates to take part in a Q-and-A session so local citizens could learn candidates’ stances on the issues that affect servicemembers and their families.
