Who doesn’t love an ocean view? It’s even better with a military discount. But hurry — some of these offers expire soon.

California

The 10-room Brewery Gulch Inn, situated on a cliff top above Northern California’s rugged Mendocino Coast, offers active duty servicemembers a 10-percent discount. The inn offers ocean-view accommodations and all the luxurious amenities you could desire, plus a great room with a library and DVD collection; games; guest computer; wood-burning fireplace; and coffee, tea, pastries, and fruit. “My favorite things about Brewery Gulch Inn are the wonderful meals the executive chef cooks exclusively for guests,” says spokesperson Emily Polsby. Florida

 

During World War II, the 34-room Cadet Hotel in South Beach was the home of Air Force cadets. Located just a block from the beach, it maintains 1940s charm with an art deco facade and period furnishings. Use discount code VET15 for 15 percent off all rooms. Hawaii

Kohea Kai Resort in Maui is a family-friendly boutique hotel, located steps from a 5-mile stretch of beach and 15 minutes from Maui’s Kahului Airport. Military members with ID receive a 15-percent discount, and anyone over age 65 gets 10 percent off. The resort offers 3-D high-definition TVs, complimentary breakfast, a pool, an open-air rooftop deck, and free Wi-Fi. Call (808) 879-1261.

Hilton Waikiki Beach offers active duty military members an average of 30 percent off best available rates. “With the military discount, starting rate for rooms with city view is $177 and ocean view at $207 per night,” says spokesperson Christina Yumul. The hotel doesn’t charge a daily resort fee, so you save even more. The hotel offers free, live entertainment every night at its lobby bar lounge, free Wi-Fi in public spaces, and free cabanas at the rooftop pool. When booking online, use rate code GV. The Carolinas

Sanderling Resort, a four-diamond resort on the shores of the Outer Banks in North Carolina, offers an annual Heroes Welcome program, Nov. 13, 2017 through March 15, 2018. The oceanfront 452-room DoubleTree Resort in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina offers a terrific discount for active duty and retired military members Nov. 8-13, 2017. At this writing, regular rates start at around $135, but the Veterans Day price was $109 — plus you pay a reduced resort fee of just $10. (The resort fee includes internet access, a kite, free self-parking, in-room bottled water, mini golf, beach towels, and other perks.) The resort features six pools and a fitness center and is adjacent to Myrtle Beach State Park and convenient to more than 100 golf courses.
