Here’s where to stay for military discounts on your next Southern sojourn:

Florida

Savannah, Ga.

New Orleans

Charleston, S.C.

The Spectator Hotel in the Historic District evokes the genteel glamour of the Old South, mixed with the luxurious exuberance of the 1920s. Virginia

Caledonia Farm — 1812, a bed-and-breakfast in the Blue Ridge Mountains adjacent to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive, offers military members a free third night when they pay for two nights. All rooms have air conditioning, working fireplaces, and Skyline Drive views. Hiking, canoeing, bird-watching, wineries, Civil War sites, and horseback riding are available nearby. Kingsmill Resort, a four-diamond condominium resort on the James River between Richmond and Norfolk, is minutes from Busch Gardens, Jamestown Settlement, Colonial Williamsburg, the College of William and Mary, and Yorktown Victory Center. Shadow Mountain Escape is a couple’s getaway in the Blue Ridge Mountains, bordering Shenandoah National Park. Jellystone Park has campgrounds throughout the South, with cabins, tent sites, and RV camping and many offering military discounts. Enjoy family activities, miniature golf, and swimming pools. Some parks have watersides and water parks.
