Patricia Bergquist is originally from Memphis, TN. Upon graduation from Bolton High School, she worked for the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health in administrative support roles in Medical Records and Psychology, and later the Department of Public Health as a Secretary to the Hospital Administrator.  She moved to Middle TN in 1976 where she married Cdr. Melvin D. Bergquist, Jr., USN (Ret).  With the encouragement of her husband, Patricia began her college education at Volunteer State Community College. She graduated from Belmont College in 1986 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Patricia has worked in various administrative and sales roles since obtaining her degree and for the last six years, has been employed by the State of Tennessee.


Patricia attended chapter meetings and conventions with her husband until his death relating to military causes in 1985. Her husband's life membership was transferred to her and she had remained an active member of the association both nationally and locally. She has participated in campaigns for letters to Congressmen and Senators on issues affecting our military families. She has shared her knowledge and experience regarding the SBP-DIC offset to encourage grassroots advocacy among widows in her area. In addition to her role on the AMAC, she serves as the Auxiliary Liaison for the Middle TN Chapter.
