Colonel Pimentel earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Durfee College of Technology (now the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth) and a master's degree in business administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. His operational assignments included the building of Minuteman missile sites, B-52 crew duty in numerous locations including Southeast Asia where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, B-52 operational test and evaluation, and at the air staff. He is a graduate of the Air War College in Alabama. His final assignment was chief, Strategic Systems, Air Force Systems Command. After retirement from active duty, he was a manager with the Boeing Co. and subsequently managed a branch office in the financial-services industry for many years. He is a Life Member of MOAA and has served as president of the Kansas Council of Chapters and the Wichita Chapter.
