Rear Admiral Dussault earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia, her Master of Science in procurement management from Saint Mary's College of California, and her Master of Science in national security management from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and completed the Executive Education Program at Columbia Business School in New York.

A Supply Corps Officer in the Navy, she served as the afloat logistics coordinator on three ships during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and served in two combat assignments in Iraq and Afghanistan, overseeing all contracting and procurement on behalf of U.S. forces. Her final assignment on active duty was as director of Logistics Programs and Corporate Operations in the Office of Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N41). In retirement, she is an independent consultant and serves on boards of advisors for academic and private-sector commercial entities.
