Crockett was commissioned through Tulane University ROTC Program in 1986, and he earned a Bachelor of Science from Southern University in New Orleans. He holds a Master of Science in counseling and psychology from Columbus State University (2005) and a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Care from New Orleans Seminary (1991). He has an earned Doctorate of Ministry and is a national certified counselor.

Crockett serves on active duty as a command chaplain for the U.S. Army at Research, Development, and Engineering Command. He held many command chaplain positions and served a combat tour in Iraq, in Korea, and with U.S. Army Central Command as the area support group command chaplain for Kuwait. He is the son of a Vietnam veteran and has a son who is currently serving and is a veteran of two combat tours.

Crockett is actively involved in several national, local, and service to Military Community Organizations including Hampton University Ministers (National) Conference, the USO (actively supports USO of Hampton Roads and Central Virginia), and the Suicide Prevention Task Force (Aberdeen Proving Ground). He is an avid supporter of our veterans and Gold Star Mothers, Families, and Survivors.
